I stopped putting it off and decided to just go headlong into cybersecurity officially and got the Google Cybersecurity Certification. It's supposed to take several months to complete but did so in about 1 1/2 weeks. Some help came from my network and systems administration background. Some of the ease was from already studying up on cybersecurity and even implementing some of the tools. About 3/4 of the way through, I hit my Achilles's Heel. Programming. I knew Python was a key part of cybersecurity, as it can be used for a lot of automation of data parsing. I just really dislike programming in general. Despite that, I've gotten more comfortable with it and even realized I'm pretty good at picking out what's wrong with Python code at least. I need to find some tasks to use it on, to keep improving my skills in that area. Next up, Security+. Maybe some Linux+ for good measure.
